About the client
BarCompany is a trusted international glassware supplier with own factories based in China. They serve various hospitality businesses from bars to hotels. Their catalog consists of 70+ high-quality glasses from various categories and collections.

Client needs & requirements
The client needed an online store to showcase their extensive catalog, expand market outreach, accept small-batch orders and inquiries from potential wholesale clients. They had multiple Excel product spreadsheets along with a huge archive of corresponding product images, which needed to be uploaded to the store. The platform needed to feature product search & filtering, intuitive navigation, and easy store backend management.
Proposed solution
After the project brief and discovery session, we defined the project scope: store design in Figma software, Shopify store development, organizing all products’ data into a strictly formatted Shopify table and importing it to the store.
Project process
Firstly, we started with establishing the design direction: what colors, fonts, imagery & layout styles will be used.

After establishing the design direction for the online store, I proceeded to prototyping the entire site design. This step is helpful in many ways: it helps to spot and minimize misalignments with the client before the development stage, which saves a lot of time.

Once the design was approved, I built the store on Shopify using the theme editor and added custom code for unique design elements and sections.
To upload the product catalog, I combined multiple spreadsheets into one and formatted the data to match Shopify's requirements. Each product had its own folder of images, and since Shopify API needs image URLs, not files, I wrote a script that automatically resized the images, uploaded them, and inserted the correct links into the product list. This made it possible to import everything in bulk, saving time and avoiding manual work.
Results
The client received a store ready to accept international orders and process payments. After the training, the client was able to manage the store by himself: fulfill orders, add and edit products, collections, and process inquiries from potential clients sent via the contact form.
- custom design highlighting the brand’s feel
- informative content both for small-batch and wholesale clients
- product catalog sorted by categories and collections
- search and filter functionality
- user-friendly navigation
- contact form and social media links
- convenient store management, security and reliability
